The Golden Thread Fair™ brings adolescent girls and their Fair Companions together through stories, conversations and creative activities.
It offers time to share memories, explore possibilities and discover more about one another.
Our Mission
The Golden Thread Experience™ exists to help every girl know who she is, value where she comes from and believe in who she can become.
Through storytelling, reflection and connection across generations, we invite girls to discover their strengths, values, passions and personal truths.
We honour the stories that came before them and encourage them to look towards their future with curiosity, confidence and courage.

Our Approach
Created by Sarah Bifield, The Golden Thread Fair brings together her study of adult psychology and personal growth with her love of storytelling, creativity and family history.
The Experience is:
⭐️ Strengths-based and designed for the participating age group.
⭐️ Educational and creative, rather than therapeutic.
⭐️ Family-centred and intergenerational.
⭐️ Non-denominational and welcoming of different cultures, beliefs and family stories.
⭐️ Designed to complement the support of parents, guardians and educators.
Taking Part at Your Own Pace
There are no right answers and no expectation to share private experiences. Participants can pause, skip a prompt or choose not to share. Each pair can adapt the conversations and activities to suit their relationship, interests and circumstances.
Fair Companions are encouraged to listen with curiosity, share their own experiences and give the young person room to express her own ideas.

The Fair is not therapy, counselling, diagnosis or professional advice. If you have concerns about a young person’s emotional wellbeing, please seek support from an appropriately qualified professional.
Our Elmwood Pilot
This inaugural pilot at Elmwood School is personally funded by Sarah Bifield.
